Using Glogster in Your Classroom

An opportunity to discover how Glogster can allow your students to create an interactive on-line poster.  Student glogs can include audio, video, web links, text, images, and special effects that can be shared with others via Facebook,Twitter, enbedding, Edmodo, an a variety of other social networking sites.

Web Literacy Workshop: Building Web Literacy

An opportunity to discover how web-based resources and collaborations support the implementation of the 2009 Core Curriculum Content Standards and can enhance student motivation and achievement.  In this workshop, educators will be actively engaged in:

  • Exploring free and accessible resources for various content areas and grade levels
  • Learning how to cultivate successful global online teacher and student collaborations

Getting Started on Moodle: Your Online Classroom   
Having an online classroom is a great way to engage and energize your students while in school and at home. Moodle is the free software that makes this possible. Learn how to create an interesting and interactive environment where resources are shared and students can collaborate. Just think of all the paper you'll save by having digital handouts and having students take quizzes and submit assignments online.  This class will teach you how to set up your Moodle classroom. (You will need to talk to your technology department f your school does not yet use Moodle. This class does no include setting up a Moodle server.)

Take your Moodle site beyond the basics.  In this training you'll learn how to add more advanced features such as lessons, workshops, adding additional modules, and how to make a Moodle a more interactive experience for your students.

From Aggregators to Wikis: Web 2.0 Tools
In this workshop you'll have the opportunity to explore a variety of Web 2.0 tools that you can use in your classroom. You'll learn everything from Aggregators (R.S.S. feeds) to Wikis and all things in-between.  Each participant will have the chance to experiment with these Web 2.0 applications.

The remainder of this workshop will be spent tweaking and adding information to your site. You’ll be amazed how quickly you can establish a website using this open source program.

Creating Podcasts and Videocasts in the Classroom
Learn how to create podcast and videocasts for use in your classroom.  You will have the opportunity to create your own podcasts/videocasts as well as your students learning to create their own.

Technology Integration for Elementary Teachers
In this training you’ll have the opportunity to explore various technology tools that you can utilize to enhance your classroom. You will learn how to create a podcast or videocast, do digital story telling, use a variety of Web 2.0 tools and have an iPad classroom. Video cameras, microphones, and an iPad or two will be provided during this training. SMART Board Tips and Trick
This workshop is designed for all teachers, all grades. We will be using the SMART Board notebook tools creatively to develop lessons that are exciting and interactive. We will be incorporating Internet tools into the notebook as part of these lessons.
